At first I thought someone had poured the pulpy remains of a blood orange into my glass. The pungent smell was strong of earth and over ripe fruit. A thick peppery fragrance tingled the nose. My first taste and I knew I had been right. Over ripe blackberries left dusty from the road side was all I could picture. The black pepper thicker than ever cascaded around my mouth. Riding strong on the back of a too much alcohol taste. A potentially massive and bold wine victory left barren by fatal flaws.
